A strong somewhat easterly pressure gradient establishes over the region from today as a stronger than usual ridge of high pressure lies to the south,this conditions persists until mid week next week with the high pressure system moving into the Great Australian Bight leading to some warm air advection early next week.

Central pressure of the high pressure ridge could reach 1040 hPa!Wind gusts in excess of 75 km/h likely over the hills and foothills!

Some middle level clouds from Tuesday to Thursday with moist air aloft.

The west coast trough then moves inland with a cold front possibly brushing the region on Friday.

We had the first summer without a 40+ Degree day at the Perth metro station since the summer of 2001-2002.
