As predicted strong gusty winds occurred last night and early today with wind gusts having reached 87 km/h at Gooseberry Hills! The strong gusty winds were due to a strong easterly pressure gradient with an unusually strong high pressure ridge to the south with maximum central mean sea level pressure(MSLP) having reached 1040 hPa combined with katabatic effects!

Some high clouds also occurred streaming in a subtropical jet stream, the possibility of some tonight.

Some middle level clouds from Monday to Thursday with moist air aloft.Virga will likely occur at times from Tuesday with the slight chance of reaching the ground on Wednesday. Some high clouds also streaming in a subtropical jet stream.

A west coast trough also deepens near the west coast leading to some warm air advection with hot conditions.

The west coast trough then moves inland on Wednesday afternoon with cooler air mass over the region thereafter.

A cold front likely moves over the region on Saturday bringing showers and possibly the coldest air mass over the region since spring last year. Then high pressure ridge rapidly builds to the south leading to clearing conditions.
