Today was the hottest day of the year so far and the hottest day in more than a year with a maximum temperature of 38.5 Degrees Celsius recorded at the Perth metro station, the highest since February 25 2017!
The unusual situation was that the hottest day of the year was recorded outside of meteorological summer which has not happened since 2007.
Some middle level clouds were also present with some virga this morning with moist air aloft.
Some middle level clouds from until the early hours of Thursday with moist air aloft.
The chance of the precipitation reaching the ground on Wednesday. Some high clouds also streaming in a subtropical jet stream.
The west coast trough moves inland tomorrow afternoon.Cloud cover likely limits high temperatures tomorrow.
The west coast trough then moves inland on Wednesday afternoon with cooler air mass over the region thereafter.
A cold front likely moves over the region on Saturday bringing showers and possibly the coldest air mass over the region since spring last year. Then high pressure ridge rapidly builds to the south leading to clearing conditions.
