A rain band lied over the region this morning ahead of an upper/middle level trough/disturbance,middle and high level clouds continue to lie over the region for the rest of today with possible virga at times, just the slight chance of reaching the ground late at night.
The slight chance of showers tomorrow until afternoon with some middle level clouds in the morning and also a moist low level southwesterly air stream.
A cold front likely moves over the region on Saturday possibly bringigng showers and a colder air mass. Then high pressure ridge rapidly builds to the south leading to clearing conditions.
A west coast trough possibly forms near the west coast next week leading to slight warm air advection but how hot the air mass will be is limited by the reduced autumn insolation.
Tuesday was the hottest day of the year so far and the hottest day in more than a year with a maximum temperature of 38.5 Degrees Celsius recorded at the Perth metro station, the highest since February 25 2017!
The unusual situation was that the hottest day of the year was recorded outside of meteorological summer which has not happened since 2007.
