A weak cold front brushed over the region on Saturday morning having brought some light showers and drizzle and a colder air mass behind,as a result Saturday was a relatively cool day.

High pressure ridge rapidly builds to the south leading having lead to clearing conditions with subsidence.

A west coast trough forms near the west coast from today leading to warm air advection. Some uncertainty on how hot it will be mid week with variation between models and ensemble members but it could be very hot.High level clouds also likely with tropical moisture from a tropical weather system in the Southern Indian Ocean streams aloft in a subtropical jet stream.

The west coast trough likely moves inland back by next Thursday.

Plenty of uncertainty on the precise synoptic conditions late during the week as it depends on the movement of Tropical Cyclone Marcus but an easterly pressure gradient is likely.
