Warm afternoon until Thursday afternoon with the warm air mass over the region but cool to cold mornings given the lengthening nights as the season progresses.

High and middle level clouds at times streaming in the subtropical jet stream with embedded weak upper level troughs and the broad longwave trough to the west.

Possible smoke haze at times until early on Thursday with prescribed burning activities.

A significant cold front will move over the region late on Thursday with a cold air mass over the region thereafter bringing further showers, showers likely clearing by afternoon on Friday with the high pressure ridge building to the south.There is the possibility of thunderstorms with the cold frontal passage with moist and unstable air ahead of the front.

A complex scenario towards the end of the forecast period with an upper level trough likely approaching from the west leading to possible rain, showers and thunderstorms but still plenty of uncertainty on the details this far out.
