Effective as of 4:00 PM Wednesday May 12 2021
Explanatory notes:
The strong high pressure ridge builds to the south leading to significant east-southeasterly flow becoming more east-northeasterly then northeasterly from the weekend as the high pressure system moves into the Great Australian Bight. During this period, upper and middle level moisture ahead of a cut off low in the Indian Ocean leads to high and middle level clouds over the region with possible virga and the slight chance of showers.
A cold front possibly moves over the region on Tuesday but plenty of ucnertainty at this stage with variation between model and model ensembles.
