Effective as of 4:00 PM Tuesday May 25 2021
Explanatory notes:
Perth has seen the coldest day this early in the year in 20 years and the coldest May day since May 30 2013 as the maximum temperature at Perth Metro yesterday was only 14.7°C.
This was due to the cold air mass over the region with frequent showers.
Becoming warmer with the high pressure system entering the Great Australian Bight/southern Australia leading to northeasterly winds.
On Friday a cold front and trough system arrives from the west bringing showers and the possibility of thunderstorms with a moist and unstable atmosphere ahead of an upper level trough.
On Saturday, the cut off low lies to the southeast, showery conditions with the possibility of thunderstorms for Perth with the moist flow ahead of the upper level trough.
Showery conditions continue on Sunday in the south-southwesterly air stream.
