Explanatory notes:

A prolonged heatwave with the very hot air mass over the region as the west coast trough remains near the west coast, with enhanced heating from subsidence below the upper level anticyclone aloft.

Some high based cumulus in the afternoon and evening until Thursday as conditional instability is released, however conditions will remain dry on the ground.

A little respite is possible next week as the upper level anticyclone is dislodged by an upper level trough and slightly cooler air moves in from the southeast. It will likely still be hot with the west coast trough remaining offshore.
