Explanatory notes:
It was a very hot day yesterday with the very hot air mass but temperatures at the Mt Lawley site fell short of the 40.0°C mark. Thunderstorms formed to the northeast associated with low level wind convergence in an unstable atmosphere ahead of the sea breeze front.
The west coast trough moves inland today leading to lower maximum temperatures but still uncomfortably humid.
Significant east-southeasterly, then easterly gradient flow will bring drier air and suppress sea breezes from Monday with strong gusts over the hills and foothills early and in the morning and again late at night with katabatic enhancement of the flow.Moderately hot days but cool nights with radiational cooling and cool air advection from the southeast.
