7 day weather forecast

Effective as of 4:00 PM Friday April 30 2021

Explanatory notes:

Fine conditions until Monday night with the subtropical high pressure ridge to the south but cold morning on Saturday and Sunday with radiational cooling of the cold air mass with light winds and mostly clear skies.

Light easterlies during the early hours and morning during the weekend followed by afternoon sea breezes.

On Monday, easterly gradient flow strengthens with a west coast trough deepening near the west coast, likely suppressing the sea breeze.

Some showers and thunderstorms are expected on Tuesday associated with an upper level low and associated developing surface low. Some uncertainty on the details this far out in time, once the upper level low and associated cold pool moves to the east, thunderstorm chances diminishes but further showers are likely to continue in the moist onshore flow through the end of the forecast period with a cold frontal passage also possible on Thursday.
