Some smoke haze is present over the region from accumulated smoke haze from prescribed burns over the past few days, likely to clear in the morning with increased vertical mixing or by later in the afternoon with the passage of the cold front.
There were warm afternoons over the past few days with the warm air mass over the region but cool to cold mornings given the lengthening nights as the season progresses.
A final warm afternoon today prior to the arrival of a cold front.
A significant cold front will move over the region in the late afternoon/evening today.There is the possibility of thunderstorms with the cold frontal passage or with a pre-frontal rough with moist and unstable air ahead of the front.
A cold air mass over the region behind the cold front bringing further showers, showers likely clearing by mid morning on Friday with the high pressure ridge building to the south.
