Explanatory notes:
A pre-frontal trough moved over the region bringing some showers and thunderstorms this afternoon.
A cold front will move through the region this evening bringing further showers but thunderstorms are looking less likely.
Further showers in the cold air mass behind the cold front clearing by mid morning tomorrow with the high pressure ridge building to the south.
Fine conditions during the weekend with the subtropical high pressure ridge to the south.
Some showers and thunderstorms are expected on Tuesday with further showers, possible thunderstorm on Wednesday and even possibly late on Monday, associated with an upper level low and associated developing surface low. Some uncertainty on the details this far out in time, once the upper level low and associated cold pool moves to the east, thunderstorm chances diminishes but further stream showers are likely to continue in the moist onshore flow through the end of the forecast period.
