7 day weather forecast

Effective as of 4:00 PM Tuesday May 11 2021

Explanatory notes:

WIt was a very warm afternoon today with the warm air mass over the region with the high in the Great Australian Bight.

High and middle level clouds ahead of an upper level trough.

The slight chance of fog in the early hours with radiational cooling of moist low level air but cloud moving in from the south acts as a limiting factor.

A cold front moves over the region from the south early tomorrow bringing showers.

The strong high pressure ridge builds to the south thereafter leading to significant east-southeasterly flow becoming more east-northeasterly then northeasterly from the weekend as the high pressure system moves into the Great Australian Bight. During this period, upper and middle level moisture ahead of a cut off low in the indian Ocean leads to high and middle level clouds over the region.
