Explanatory notes:



The Mt Lawley site has seen the hottest January on record with a mean maximum temperature of 33.7°C beating the record of 33.5°C set in January 2012.

It was the hottest January at the official Perth station since January 1962. 

Very hot again until Saturday as hot air mass advects over the region as west coast trough deepens off the west coast.

Becoming cooler thereafter, especially early next working week as a cool air mass advects over the region with a significant cold frontal passage for February on Sunday, as a significant low pressure system lies to the south. Monday would likely be the coldest day since December.
