The Mt Lawley site has seen the hottest January on record with a mean maximum temperature of 33.7°C beating the record of 33.5°C set in January 2012.
It was the hottest January at the official Perth station since January 1962.
Very hot again until tomorrow as hot air mass lies over the region as west coast trough deepens off the west coast.
Perth has seen yet another 40+°C day today, bringing the total number of such days this summer to 12, breaking the previous record of 7 days by a large margin and summer is still not yet over and temperatures are expected to exceed 40°C by a margin again tomorrow.
