A strong cold frontal passage is currently occuring as of 4 PM.Gusty winds occured at times,with gusts in excess of 70 km/h recorded on land,reaching 89 km/h on Rottnest Island.Showers,strong,gusty winds and possible thunderstorms and/or small hail still possible in the cold pool behind the cold front with a low pressure system over the southwest of the state.

The Australian Bureau of Meteorology(BOM) has issued a severe weather warning for damaging winds and damaging surf for parts of the southwest and south of the state including the Perth Metropolitan Area for Wednesday and early on Thursday.Please see http://www.bom.gov.au/products/IDW21037.shtml for the latest severe weather warning.

The strong winds and showers possibly extends into the early hours of Thursday depending on the position of the low pressure system.Conditions easing thereafter though some "anticyclone gloom".

A weak cold front  brushing the region on Friday and another weak cold front brushing the region on Sunday/Monday.

Partly to mostly cloudy.A high(80%) chance of showers early easing to a slight(20%) chance by morning.Winds west-southwesterly at 25-40 km/h easing to southerly at 5-15 km/h by sunrise becoming south-southwesterly at 15-25 km/h from around the middle of the day easing to southerly at 5-15 km/h back at night.Gusty winds possible in the early hours.
