Effective as of 12:00 AM Thursday May 6 2021
Explanatory notes:
Some isolated showers streaming from the west in the moist and unstable onshore flow. A band of low level wind convergence near the coast can also act as a focus for shower activity overnight.
From late morning today, a surface trough ahead of an upper level trough brings showers with possible thunderstorms.
After the trough moves to the east, some showers streaming from the southwest until Friday morning in the moist cool air mass with the slight chance of a thunderstorm (most likely offshore) with the cold pool aloft.
Ridge of high pressure builds to the south thereafter leading to fine conditions.
The slight chance of fog early on Saturday and Sunday with light winds radiational cooling of moist air, also the slight chance early on Friday if skies are sufficiently clear and winds are sufficiently light given moist low level air and moist soils from earlier showers.
Warmer afternoons early next week with warm air advection as the high moves into the Great Australian Bight.
